1990: Graduated from Mason County High School.
1996: Graduated from the University of Kentucky (Bachelor of Arts in Education; Major: History; Minor: Sociology; Area of Concentration: Psychology and Political Science).
1996-1997: Served as Mason County High School’s in-school alternative school director.
1997-2001: Taught in Rowan County, Kentucky (Rowan County Senior High School). Courses taught included: Psychology, U. S. History, and Kentucky Studies.
2001: Recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award from the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP), a six-week learning retreat for Kentucky’s most academically-gifted students.
2001-Present: Social Studies teacher at Mason County High School; courses include: African-American History, AP Psychology, Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, Criminal Psychology, Foundations of American Gov't., Modern Social Problems, Psychology, Sociology, and, formerly, Cinematic Representation of Crime & Criminals, True Crime 101, and Survey of Social Studies (2001/2002 - 2011/2012).
2006: Graduated summa cum laude from Morehead State University (Master of Arts in Secondary Education with an academic emphasis on Criminology).
