A University of Louisville representative will be here on Friday, Nov. 3, to speak to students interested in the University of Louisville.  This will take place in the Rewards Room at 10:00 am.

The 4H leadership funds are due on September 13, 2017.  

TSA and Robotics Team Meeting

There will be a TSA amd Robotics Team meeting today, Wednesday, August 30th, after school at STEAM from 3:30-4:30. 

Anyone interested in participating in either organization should make plans to attend.

Summer School

Summer School Registration will be Friday May 19 from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the high school library. If you have failed a Math, English, Science, Social Studies or Health class it is highly recommended that you attend summer school to recover those credits. If you do not they will be required to be made up the next school year. Summer School will begin Monday May 22. Times and days are Monday thru Thursday 8-2 each day. Students must provide their own transportation.

AP Pregistration

Students who will be taking AP tests will be pre-registering on Tuesday, April 11.  Students will be called to the cafeteria to complete the registration process in morning and afternoon groups.

Congratulations to Sage Kinney!

Congratulations to MCHS Junior Sage Kinney.  Sage has been elected as the 2017-2018 FFA Regional Secretary.  Sage will be working closely with other regional officers next year to promote FFA activities at the regional level.

Y-Club Shoe Drive

From March 16 through March 24, the Y-Club will be collecting new or used shoes to donate to WaterStep. This is a non-profit organization that helps develop access to safe drinking water in third world countries. Shoes do not have to be in great condition to donate. Donation boxes are set up in the officeand in Ms. Peterson and Mrs. Garrison's classrooms. Please spread the word!



Prom Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, March 22, through Thursday, April 13. Tickets will be sold in the morning in the gym lobby and after school in the front lobby. In order to buy a prom ticket you must sign a contract stating that you understand the Prom Dress Code and that you understand that your ticket is non-refundable. MCHS ROTC Chili Supper

The MCHS JROTC cordially invites everyone out for their annual community chili supper and auction this Saturday, Feb. 11th, in the MCHS cafeteria. The chili supper will begin @ 5:00 pm with the auction following @ 6:00 pm. Cost is $3.00 per person for the chili supper and will help the program raise money for their annual military ball. There is no cost to participate in the auction.

Mason County Baseball team will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on December 3rd, 2016 at the Mason County High School from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

FFA Week Event Activities for Teachers-Feb. 21-24, 2017

Tuesday-  FFA T-shirt and jeans day.  Staff is encouraged to wear Blue FFA shirt and jeans
                  Sausage and Biscuits will be provided to staff for breakfast
Wednesday- Blue and Gold day with jeans-  Teachers can were blue and gold colors to support FFA
                        Those that wear blue and gold will receive a lunch of hemp dogs and chips.
Thursday- Wear your favorite equipment brand clothes
Friday-  FFA jacket day and jeans- wear your FFA jacket and all staff is welcome to attend banquet that evening at 5:30

Drug Prevention Seminar Sign-Ups

There will be a Drug Testing Seminar after school on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.  Students must sign up in office. Space is limited to the first 70 students that sign up.  Any student that is a DRIVER, an ATHLETE or in a CLUB, MUST attend ONE Drug Education session.  

HOSA Week is November 13-15, 2017

This week we are celebrating HOSA - Health Occupations Students of America. HOSA’s mission it to empower students to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience.

MCHS Y-Club Babysitting Fundraiser at the YMCA

The MCHS Y-Club is sponsoring a babysitting fundraiser at the YMCA on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 5:00-10:00 p.m. It's $10 per child, ages 4-10, and we will swim, eat pizza, play games, and watch a movie! All proceeds will go toward student registration fees for the Kentucky United Nations Assembly. Please call the YMCA by Wednesday, Feb. 15, to reserve a spot for your child.

Library Fees

50% of all library fines paid Thursday & Friday will be donated to the Hurricane Relief fundraiser.   This is a perfect time to pay your fine and help the hurricane victims.

Senior Tux and Drape photos

Senior Tux & Drape Pics will be taken in the library on Friday, Oct. 27.

FFA Annual Fruit, Nuts and BBQ Sauce Fundraiser

The FFA is holding its annual fruit, nuts, and BBQ sauce fundraiser.  Orders for the fruit and nuts will be due on Nov. 13 and money will be due prior to ordering.  

MCHS Photography Exhibit

The MCHS Art Department will be hosting a Photography Exhibit on Friday, 3, 2016 at the Kentucky Gateway Center Museum.

Final Drug Testing Seminar

The FINAL Drug Testing Seminar will be held on January 19th from 3:15 - 4:15.  Anyone that hasn't attended a seminar is required to do so on this day.

Ag Department Mum Orders

The Ag Department has mums this year in a variety of colors and multi color pots.  They will be selling them for 12 dollars per pot or 2 for 20.  They will be open during normal school hours and on Saturday, Nov. 30.  Visit the greenhouse if interested.  


Attention Seniors: Peoples Bank is sponsoring a chance to win $500 scholarship. There will be a drawing held at school on Febuary 2nd. The winner will get a chance to make a half court shot on friday Febuary 3rd at the home boys basketball game vs Clark County. A sign up sheet is available in the office.

Picture Money

Picture money for all students is due by September 16.  Money should be turned in to the office.

Beta Club Dues

Beta club dues are to be paid to Ms. Hazlett in room 210 by Friday, Sept 22. $15 dues are for new members and $3 dues are for current members. Drug testing forms are due in with your payment unless you already have one on file.

ACT Test Dates

Make sure you do not miss a registration deadline so that you will avoid a late registration fee.

Homecoming Powder Puff Football

Any junior or senior gir who wants to play in the homecoming powder puff football game needs to sign up in the front office. The deadline to sign up is Friday, September 22.

MCHS Grandparents Day

MCHS Grandparents Day is on Oct. 4, 2017.  All interested students should invite their grandparents to lunch.

MCTC ACT Test Prep Dates

MCTC will offer ACT Test Prep workshops this fall for help with the Oct. and Dec. ACT exams. For information call (606) 759-7141 ext.66120. Flyer with details is on Mrs. Stewart’s Google classroom page.

The Gatton Academy Representative will be at MCHS on September 21st during 4th period. Students interested in learning more about Gatton, please respond to Mrs. Stewart’s google classroom.


MCTC Dual Credit Sign-in Sheets

Students taking classes at MCTC need to sign the sign-in sheet at MCTC. There are now 2 locations for the sheets. One on a clipboard outside Emily Thurman's Office (Room 215A) and one is at the welcome desk in the tech building.

MCHS National Honor Society Application

To be considered for NHS you must have successfully completed or are currently taking a minimum of 6 honors or Advanced Placement courses (not college or dual credit) and maintain a GPA of 3.7 or better.


College Fair

All seniors will be attending the college fair in the Fieldhouse on Sept. 20, 2017 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and juniors will attend from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. 

FAFSA Help Sign-Ups

Parents needing help completing the FAFSA are invited to sign up for an appointment in the office. We have appointments from noon until 6:30 pm on Oct. 4th.

Attendance Reminder

In order to attend prom - you can not have 6 or more unexcused absences.
In order to walk at graduation - you can not have 9 or more unexcused absences.

Dance Team Tryouts

Any student interested in trying out for the dance team should sign up in the front office.


All juniors and seniors who signed up to take the ASVAB test will be testing at Steam on Sept. 19 from 8:00 am until noon.  We will load buses from the top lot around 8:00 am.

Football and soccer calendars are available in the front office for students and staff.

PSAT Signups

Juniors and sophomores are invited to sign up for the PSAT test in the office.
